I recently revisited Harvard professor Frances Frei’s Trust Triangle — and love it as a simple, powerful way to understand why people trust their leaders.
We earn trust when people:
• Think they’re interacting with the real us authenticity
• Believe in our judgment and competence logic
• Feel we genuinely care about them empathy
It’s a clear formula, but most leaders have a wobble somewhere. As you communicate with your
team this week, ask yourself: Which side of the triangle is your current blind spot?
