Getting Your Team to Bring More to the Table

Awww, I just love Mr. Rogers and he sure had it right when he said, “As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is…it’s our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing that expression.”

That’s not just a beautiful life philosophy—it’s also a powerful leadership approach! Instead of trying to “fix” people, strengths-based leaders spot what’s best in others and build from there.

Next time you’re in a 1:1, try asking: “What have you done lately that felt effortless—or fun?” It’s a simple way to surface strengths, and it shows you care about more than tasks.

People bring more to the table when they’re seen and valued, not just for what they do—but for who they are.
